Some mornings stay with you long after the wedding is over, and getting ready at The Dorchester is one of them. This beautiful London wedding began in a suite overlooking Hyde Park, and from the moment I stepped under that famous Park Lane awning I knew we were in for something special.
As a London wedding photographer, I spend a lot of time in beautiful places, but The Dorchester has a magic of its own. Every corner of this hotel feels like it was designed with photography in mind, which is exactly what I want to share with you today.
Bridal Preparations in a Dorchester Suite
The bride got ready in one of the hotel's stunning suites, all soft blue walls, chinoiserie panels and delicate florals. It is the kind of space that photographs beautifully without any styling at all. Her gown, a dramatic silk ball gown with a corseted bodice and long lace sleeves, hung against the hand painted wallpaper behind the bed and honestly looked like a piece of art before she had even put it on.
Bridal preparations are one of my favourite parts of any wedding day. There is a calm before everything begins, a glass of champagne, a quiet moment by the window with the trees of Hyde Park just outside. I photograph these moments in a natural, documentary way, so the excitement, the laughter and the nerves are all captured exactly as they happened.

The Promenade
The domed entrance to The Promenade, with its gilded ceiling and towering floral arrangements, is pure theatre. This is where we photographed the bride with her bridesmaids in their blush gowns, bouquets in the air, and it looked like a scene from a film. The Suites
The bedrooms and suites are a dream for getting ready photos. Upholstered headboards, floral curtains, marble fireplaces and velvet chaises give you endless options, and everything feels luxurious without being fussy.
The Mirrored Lifts and Corridors
Some of my favourite candid moments happened in transit. The mirrored, gold toned lift made for a gorgeous frame as the bride and her bridesmaids headed down, all giggles and last minute dress fluffing. These in between moments are often the ones couples treasure most.
The Famous Park Lane Entrance
The Dorchester's façade, with its striped awnings and topiary lined canopy, is one of the most recognisable in London. We captured the bride stepping into a Rolls-Royce Phantom under the hotel name, her veil catching the breeze, and it is an image that could belong in any era. The pavement just outside also gave us beautiful natural light for romantic couple portraits before the celebrations continued.
