A London Christmas Wedding at Old Marylebone Town Hall & Home House

There’s something truly magical about a London Christmas wedding, and this celebration was the perfect example of why December is one of my favourite months to photograph. A timeless ceremony at Old Marylebone Town Hall, followed by an elegant evening reception at Home House — honestly, it doesn’t get much better than this.

This combination is one of my absolute favourites as a London editorial wedding photographer. It’s classic, stylish, and effortlessly chic, especially as the city lights start to glow on a winter evening.

The Ceremony: Old Marylebone Town Hall in December

Old Marylebone Town Hall is iconic all year round, but at Christmas it feels particularly special. The architecture, the grandeur of the staircase, and the festive atmosphere make it an incredible setting for The Old Marylebone Town Hall wedding photography.

For this ceremony, everything felt intimate yet celebratory — elegant outfits, joyful energy, and that unmistakable buzz you only get in London in December. The winter light fades quickly, which is where experience (and lighting!) really comes into play.

Editorial Winter Light & Flash Photography

To achieve that cool, editorial look you see in these images, I use my Profoto flash system, which is — quite simply — the best on the market. It allows me to work seamlessly in low-light winter conditions while keeping everything looking natural, flattering, and refined.

Rather than overpowering the scene, I use flash to enhance the atmosphere: balancing ambient light, highlighting textures, and creating depth. This is especially important for London editorial wedding photography, where the goal is a polished, magazine-worthy feel without losing emotion or authenticity.

Reception at Home House Members Club

The reception took place at Home House, one of London’s most beautiful and character-filled members clubs. At Christmas, the interiors are warm, candlelit, and incredibly atmospheric — perfect for an editorial Home House wedding.

Long tables, elegant florals, chandeliers, and soft candlelight created the dreamiest setting for dinner. Home House is ideal for couples who want a relaxed yet luxurious celebration, and it photographs beautifully in the evening.

This wedding was also featured on Rock My Wedding’s Instagram, which was such an honour. It’s always lovely to see a celebration resonate with a wider audience, especially one that combines timeless styling, an intimate London ceremony, and an editorial approach to photography.
